Our Programs

Our programs are youth-based platforms which connects adolescents with mentors to identify the difficulties of living in poverty with limited role models in the home. By engaging adolescents in group discussions and activities that are developmentally relevant to their age group, these programs “keep youth off the streets” where unfortunately so many negative influences and dangers exist.

After successful program completion, students have displayed improved behavior, academic performance and better overall decision-making by an overall 65 percent; our success to-date has been noteworthy. Theme-based activities and fun trips create a variety of social experiences designed to foster age-appropriate social skills development. The HUBB Summer Camps cultivates growth in each camper’s ability to work as a part of a team and feel a sense of acceptance.

  • Annual City-Wide Olympics

Annual City-Wide Healthy Olympics is a fun-filled, athletic event to promote healthy lifestyles for children and families. This is a critical issue for Newark residents. The FP YouthOutCry Healthy Olympics has demonstrated for the last four years that children and families are excited and want to be involved in positive activities. Being safe and healthy is one of FP YouthOutCry’s priorities. Healthy Olympics promotes the benefits of physical activity and nutrition in the war against childhood obesity.

In an effort to inspire a more collaborative city-wide spirit, this event connects residents within the five wards of the city and actively engages parents, children, neighbors, communities, city officials and council representatives. Over the years, more than 1,000 children and families have participated in this annual physical fitness program. This event encourages physical fitness while bringing families and the community to Newark’s parks and public grounds, demonstrating the wonderful resources existing within the city.
